Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC, Electromagnetic Compatibility) refers to the ability of a device or system to operate in compliance with the requirements in its electromagnetic environment and not generate unbearable electromagnetic disturbance to any equipment in its environment. Therefore, EMC includes two requirements: on the one hand, it means that the electromagnetic disturbance (Electromagnetic Disturbance) generated by the equipment during normal operation cannot exceed a certain limit; Electromagnetic disturbance has a certain degree of immunity, that is, Electromagnetic Susceptibility (EMS).
1. What is EMC electromagnetic compatibility?
2. EMC terms:
(1) Equipment (equipment) refers to any electrical, electronic or electromechanical device that works as an independent unit and performs a single function.
(2) System (system) refers to "a number of equipment, subsystems, full-time personnel and technical combinations that can perform or guarantee work tasks".
(3) Electromagnetic environment (electromagnetic environment) The sum of all electromagnetic phenomena existing in a given place.
"Given place" is "space", and "all electromagnetic phenomena" include all "time" and all "spectrum".
EMC: (Electromagnetic compatibility) electromagnetic compatibility
EMI: (Electromagnetic interference) electromagnetic interference
EMS: (Electromagnetic Susceptibility) electromagnetic susceptibility
RE: (Radiated emission) radiation disturbance (commonly known as: electromagnetic radiation, radiation emission)
CE: (Conducted emission) conducted disturbance (commonly known as: conducted emission)
CS: (Conducted Susceptibility) conducted disturbance immunity
RS: (Radiated Susceptibility) radio frequency electromagnetic field radiation immunity
ESD: (Electrostatic discharge) electrostatic discharge
EFT/Burst: (Electrical fast transient burst) electrical fast transient burst
RFI: (Radio Frequency Interfernce) radio frequency interference
ISM: (Industrial Scientific Medical) industrial, scientific, medical radio frequency equipment

4. Electromagnetic compatibility application fields:
1) IT information technology field;
2) Modern medical equipment, electronic and electrical fields related to medical equipment;
3) Automotive electronics, the application of automotive electronics technology is related to the electromagnetic environment of the vehicle, mainly caused by the electromagnetic environment in which the vehicle is located, and the ability of the vehicle itself to resist electromagnetic disturbance is also crucial.
4) Safety requirements for mechanical equipment and electrical equipment systems, EMC electromagnetic compatibility;
5) Due to the development of electronics, electricity, wireless communication, radar detection and other technologies and the increasing application in the aerospace field, the related issues of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) have also received increasing attention. Compatible disciplines thus developed.
6) Specific safety requirements for electromagnetic compatibility EMI of lighting products;
7) For household electrical appliances, due to the continuous deterioration of the electromagnetic environment, more and more attention has been paid to the electromagnetic compatibility issue, and the electromagnetic compatibility standards of household appliances are also constantly updated according to actual needs. European Standard EN 55014-1:2006/+A1:2009.
