The full name of IFETEL is Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones. It is the Mexican Federal Institute of Telecommunications and is responsible for the testing and type approval process required for all imported equipment of Telecom Mexico. All products that use frequencies to transmit and/or receive signals and all communication products connected to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) or public networks need to be certified by IFETEL.

5. Sample requirements

One normal prototype, 2 RF prototypes..

6. Certification process

1. Submit materials and samples.
2. After passing the pre-test, it will be sent to Mexico for local testing.
3. After the sample is tested and passed, a test report will be issued.
4. The agency audits the test report and issues the IFETEL certificate.

Consumer electronic products should follow the requirements for product marking in the technical rules promulgated by IFETEL: the certification approval number should be marked on the product, and the brand and model of the product should be marked; if it cannot be marked on the product, it should be marked on the packaging, instructions or labels. .
