1. Introduction to Certification
South Korea’s energy efficiency and labeling work began in 1992. The South Korean government’s measures to encourage energy-saving products are as follows: First, it is mandatory to use in government agencies. Energy efficient equipment. The second is to give priority to purchasing energy-efficient and energy-saving products. The third is to provide low-interest long-term loans to consumers who purchase energy-saving certified products. Fourth, Korea Electric Power Corporation has certain discounts for consumers who purchase energy-saving certified products.
Energy efficiency labels and labels are energy performance information affixed to products, which are used to indicate the energy consumption, energy efficiency, energy saving level and cost of products, so as to provide consumers with necessary energy efficiency guidance and suggestions when purchasing products . Energy efficiency labels generally include guarantee labels, comparison labels and information labels.
The energy consumption rate rating system is an obligatory system that marks 1-5 grades on products according to the energy consumption rate or energy usage, and all of them meet the minimum energy consumption rate standard (MEPS: Minimum Energy Performance Standard). Its purpose is to make it easier for consumers to purchase high-efficiency and energy-saving products; at the same time, it is a system to encourage manufacturers (importers) to produce and sell energy-saving products from the production (import) stage. In order to expand the popularization of energy-saving products, the energy consumption rate marking system undertakes the following three obligations to domestic manufacturers (domestic) and domestic importers (import):
manufacturer:
1. Obliged to affix energy consumption rate grade labels;
2. Obliged to declare products;
3. Need to meet the minimum consumption rate standards, etc.
Importer:
1. According to the energy consumption rate or usage of the product, it is divided into 1~5 grades and marked with labels.
2. The product needs to be declared after being tested.
3. The production and sales of products that do not reach level 5 are prohibited (need to meet the minimum consumption rate standard).
This is the minimum energy efficiency standard stipulated by the government in order to prevent the spread of low-efficiency products and to promote the technological development of manufacturers. If the standards are not met, domestic production or sales are prohibited. The minimum consumption rate standard is implemented for 21 kinds of products, and if it is violated, a fine of less than 20 million won will be imposed.

4. Required information
1. Circuit diagram
2. Product label
3. Information of Korean sellers
4. The business license (business No.) and contact number of the Korean seller.
5. Sample requirements
Sample Quantity: 3
6. Certification process
1. The factory provides samples to the laboratory for pre-testing
2. After the prediction is OK, send it to the designated laboratory for energy efficiency in South Korea for testing
3. After the test is completed, a test report is issued
4. The Korean local agent takes the report to the KEMCO website for registration
7. Certification cycle and validity period
Test period: 5 days, registration and certification time with KEMCO: 3 days
8. Matters needing attention
1. When applying for Korean energy efficiency certification, the business license of the local Korean seller must be provided, and the holder of the Korean energy efficiency certification must be a local Korean seller rather than a Chinese factory or an agent in China. The original report will only be sent to the Korean seller , but we will first provide the electronic file of the energy efficiency report to the factory.
2. Within 60 days after the energy efficiency report is issued, the Chinese factory must ask the local Korean seller to register on the KEMCO website. If the registration is not performed within 60 days, the report will become invalid after it expires.
3. When applying for energy efficiency, the energy efficiency label must be affixed to the sample.
