SIRIM is a certification management agency in Malaysia. Electronic products entering Malaysia need to apply for SIRIM certification. In principle, the applicant should be a local institution in Malaysia. The application and management of SIRIM certification is the specific responsibility of SIRIM QAS International, which issues the SIRIM certificate.

Plugs (below 15A), switches and dimmers, sockets (below 15A), fluorescent lamps and starter brackets, ceiling light boxes, bayonet lamp holders and multi-head adapters, fluorescent lamps (except separately imported lamp tubes), capacitors for fluorescent lamps, Ballasts for fluorescent lamps, leakage protectors, electric water heaters (including separately imported heaters), hair dryers, desk lamps, liquid heating appliances, electric irons, electric shavers, kitchen video mixers, immersion heaters, hi-fi devices , Mosquito repellent, bread oven, electric fan, TV, vacuum cleaner, player, washing machine, refrigerator, rice cooker, Christmas lights, household electric tools, wires and cables. In addition to ordinary home appliances, key components such as plugs, power cords, switches, and LED power supplies also need to obtain SIRIM certification.

4. Certification process

1. Assess whether the product needs SIRIM certification
2. Conduct IECCB testing and certification (if there is an IECCB certificate, it can be omitted)
3. For ST registration, energy efficiency products need to review energy efficiency reports
4. Submit IECCE report and factory quality documents to apply for SIRIM certification
5. After the documents are approved, the application will be accepted and the factory inspection will be arranged
6. The factory has passed the inspection and submitted for approval
7. Issue SIRIM product certification

5. Certification cycle and validity period

The processing period is 3-5 weeks, and the certificate is valid for 1 year

6. Factory inspection

The factory inspection must comply with the product certification system. Once it meets the requirements, the certificate will be issued. In order to ensure the renewal of the certificate, the annual inspection must implement market supervision.
