1. Introduction to Certification

The "Telecommunication Equipment Mandatory Testing and Certification Act" issued by TEC India Telecom Engineering Center, starting from October 1, 2019, all telecommunications products, as long as they are produced, imported, distributed or sold in the Indian market, need to pass before that TEC certification.

3. Certification category

TEC certification is divided into two categories: Interface Approval and Type Approval.
1. Interface Approval is based on the Interface Requirements (IR) standards issued by TEC.
2. Type Approval is based on the Generic Requirements (GR) standards issued by TEC.

4. Product range

Communications or networking equipment that interfaces with public networks or wide area network (WAN) services. Common telecom network interfaces include T1/E1, ISDN BRI, PRI ISDN, ADSL, serial and analog PSTN, etc.

7. Certification process

1. Customers place orders & send samples to our laboratory
2. Engineers inspect and pre-test the products
3. Send samples to India TEC laboratory for formal testing
4. TEC laboratory completes the test & issues a formal test report
5. TEC bureau reviews documents and test reports and completes registration

8. Certification cycle and validity period

Certification cycle: 2-3 months, valid for 10 years.

9. Factory inspection

No factory inspection is required.

10. Matters needing attention

1. The MTCTE portal account can only be registered by local Indian OEMs and local Indian representatives;
2. TEC test items need to be tested in local laboratories in India, and overseas laboratory test reports are not accepted;
3. The types of registration for different product applications will be different, and the fees will also be different;
4. After the certification is completed, the product needs to be marked with the TEC label and related information;
5. Only 10 models can be included in a certificate, including main test model & series model.
