1. Introduction to Certification
India's WPC (Wireless Planning & Coordination Wing) is an institution that regulates wireless regulations in India. All wireless products need to be approved by WPC before entering the market. There are two types of frequency bands in India: free and unopened. For the free and open frequency bands, such equipment only needs to apply for an ETA (Equipment Type Approval) certificate; while other frequency bands that are not free and open need to apply for a license. Both ETA and license holders need to be locally registered companies. Based on CE R & TTE or FCC ID (India local standard), 2G/3G/4G requires mobile operators to apply.

3. Certification category
The wireless certification of wireless products in India can be divided into two modes: ETA (Equipment Type of Approval) certification and license license. The basis for the judgment comes from the working frequency band used by the applied equipment.
1. ETA (Equipment Type of Approval) certification: free and open frequency bands such as 13.56MHz, 433MHz, 2.4GHz, 5.725-5.825GHz, etc.;
For ETA certification, the product does not need to be sent to India for local testing, India recognizes European standards, and the product has an R&TTE report to submit an application for approval to WPC, and WPC signs the certificate through the audit report.
2.License license: non-free and open frequency bands, such as GSM, WCDMA mobile phones;
For the license, it needs to meet the standard requirements of India.
4. Product range
Equipment with radio transmitters. These include mobile (GSM or WCDMA) handsets, wireless local area network (WLAN) devices such as Wi-Fi devices, Bluetooth devices, Zigbee devices, WiMAX devices, RFID devices, contactless smart card readers, and in combination with a number of other RF emitters device products. In addition, only receivers do not need WPC certificates, such as GPS products.
5. Certification process
1. The applicant needs to obtain the CE-RED report of the product before applying (no samples are required)
2. If the customer has an importer, go to the WPC Bureau to apply for an account number and password;
3. RF report and other related materials to WPC
4. After the WPC audit, if there is no problem, the certificate will be issued.
6. Certification cycle and validity period
The cycle is 3-4 weeks, and the validity period is long-term.
