1. Introduction to Japan TELEC certification

Type approval (i.e. technical regulation compliance certification) of designated radio equipment entering the Japanese market according to the requirements of Japan's Radio Wave Law.

TELEC certification is mandatory. TELEC (Telecom Engineering Center) is the main registered certification agency for radio equipment compliance certification in Japan. TELEC is also called MIC certification in Japan. TELEC is one of the designated certification agencies of MIC (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications-Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan), so they are collectively referred to as TELEC certification.

2. Certification category

1. Test certification: verify each equipment unit, and the certification is only valid for each verified equipment unit;

2. Type approval: Verification of samples of a batch of equipment similarly designed and manufactured. This approval is valid for that batch of equipment, but if the design or manufacture of the equipment changes, the equipment will need to be re-certified.
