Radio Frequency Testing

The full name of SRRC is State Radio Regulation Committee, also known as the State Radio Regulatory Commission. In 1998, the National Radio Monitoring Center and the National Radio Spectrum Management Center merged to form the China National Radio Monitoring Center.

In 1999, the Chinese government established special frequency ranges for different types of radio transmission equipment, and not all frequencies were legally used in China. All radio transmission equipment sold or used in China will be designated with different frequencies. In addition, applicants must pay attention to the prescribed scope of certain wireless transmission equipment, not only applying for "wireless model approval certification", but also applying for China Compulsory Certification (CCC) and/or Network Access Permit (MII) approval.

SRRC certification (also known as SRMC certification) can be understood as radio model approval certification.

According to China's "Regulations on the Administration of Imported Radio Transmission Equipment" and "Regulations on the Administration of Production of Radio Transmission Equipment", in order to strengthen the management of imported and produced radio transmission equipment, all radio transmission equipment exported to the People's Republic of China or produced (including trial production) within the territory of the People's Republic of China must hold a "Radio Transmission Equipment Model Approval Certificate" issued by the State Radio Regulation Committee (SRRC) after its emission characteristics have been approved. The label of the factory equipment must indicate the model approval code.

Radio transmitting equipment is defined as various devices that emit radio waves, such as wireless communication, navigation, positioning, direction finding, radar, remote control, telemetry, broadcasting, television, and low-power (short distance) devices, but does not include industrial, scientific research, medical equipment, electrified transportation systems, high-voltage power lines, and other electrical devices that radiate electromagnetic waves.

Micro power (short-range) wireless devices do not require SRRC certification, such as toy based 27MHz and 40MHz remote-controlled airplanes and remote-controlled cars, which do not need to apply for radio model approval certification. However, it is still necessary to pay attention to the requirements of the national standard for electric toys, including Bluetooth and WIFI technology for toy products.
