FCC SDoC requires adding a Statement of Conformity to the documentation accompanying the device. The Statement of Conformity must include essential information such as the name, address, or contact website of the local U.S. supplier.
(1) For FCC SDoC, the responsible party must provide the declaration document before shipment and sale. How do I identify the responsible party?
The FCC's regulations on responsible parties aim to ensure the U.S. can promptly locate accountable entities during market inspections. Therefore, the responsible party must meet the following requirements:
1) The responsible party must be a U.S.-based company;
2) The responsible party may be the manufacturer, assembler, or importer;
3) The Responsible Party must be able to provide the product, test reports, and relevant records during FCC market inspections to ensure compliance with the FCC SDoC procedure;
4) The Responsible Party should include the Declaration of Conformity document in the product's accompanying documentation.
We recommend customers directly select the primary importer or engage a local U.S. agency as the Responsible Party.
(2) Are there specific requirements for the content of the FCC SDoC Declaration of Conformity document?
Per FCC Rule 2.1077, the declaration document must include:
1) Product information: e.g., product name, model number;
2) FCC compliance warning statement;
3) U.S. responsible party information: company name, address, phone number, or internet contact details.
The declaration document must accompany the product during shipment and sale.
(3) Regarding the FCC SDoC declaration document, in what format should it be shipped?
GTG has confirmed with the U.S. FCC that the declaration document may be provided in either of the following two formats:
1) As a separate page, included with the instruction manual and shipped with the product (Note: Required for each individual product; not issued per shipment batch).
2) By incorporating the information required in the declaration document directly into the instruction manual for shipment.
