EN18031 certification is now mandatory. Have you arranged for your products?
As we are currently in peak certification season, GTG has compiled common questions from recent clients for your reference.
For further inquiries, feel free to leave a message or call our hotline: 13925591357.
I. Can different product models be certified as a single series under EN 18031?
Yes, provided the hardware and software remain consistent across models. Product appearance and naming are irrelevant.
II. Does any hardware or software variation disqualify products from being grouped as a series?
Hardware level: Ensure the main control chip and wireless communication module are identical.
Software level: Ensure the firmware version and app version are identical.
Meeting these two criteria allows products to be certified as a single series.
III. What is the difference between EN 18031 and EN 303645?
EN 303645 is the EU cybersecurity standard for all connected products, covering both wired and wireless devices. It is a non-mandatory cybersecurity standard.
EN 18031 is a cybersecurity certification specifically for wireless products. It is a mandatory standard and is stricter and more specialized compared to EN 303645.
IV. What is the difference between EN 18031 and PSTI?
PSTI is the UK cybersecurity standard for consumer connected products, with all its requirements derived from EN 303645.
Generally, if our product complies with EN 18031, it will also comply with EN 303645 and, consequently, meet PSTI requirements.
Furthermore, when obtaining EN 18031 certification through GTG, PSTI certification is provided free of charge.
